Thinking - Due Diligence and Audit of Airport’s
CNS and ATM
Many airports now belong to business groups or consortia and airports
continue to attract attention when they come to market. Good
business practise dictates that due diligence is applied before undertaking
such large investments. Even if the scenario does not involve the
direct selling or purchase of a whole airport, undertaking due diligence
is also “Best Practise” before embarking upon any major technical
infrastructure upgrade, such as Airport Air Navigation Equipment (AANE). Cyrrus
can assist by undertaking an audit of the existing AANE currently in
use at an airport to determine its useful service life, value and also
provide an estimate of when replacement should be anticipated and budgeted
for. Cyrrus can also assist Airport Operators on how to prioritise
equipment procurement plans to meet a company’s business needs
and capital expenditure budget.
Why Cyrrus?
Because Cyrrus offers the following features and benefits:
- We can supplement Airports’ own resources for specific
projects; working with Cyrrus’ resources ‘buys in’ our
skills and experience so that the Airports’ risk of learning ‘The
Hard Way’ is minimised
- The ‘In House’ skill-set we possess enables a common-sense
appraisal of a Units’ AANE to be undertaken that will be
objective, independent and unbiased towards any particular resolution
or supplier
- Cyrrus has the in-depth knowledge of what is, and what is not,
practical and specialises in producing imaginative proposals that
produce cost-effective, long term resolutions to any identified
problems.
- Cyrrus’ personnel have a wide range of experience in conducting
AANE audits. These
are followed up with written reports which propose an action plan
(where appropriate) that will meet the operational requirement.
- If
necessary, Cyrrus can manage the resultant programme for the customer
and accept responsibility for the effective implementation of the project. Alternatively,
the audit report can be passed to the customer’s own project management
staff to implement with Cyrrus assuming the technical support role.
